So this is what I have been working on for the last 6 weeks or so. Making 90 journals! Megan at VeryJane contacted me and asked if I would be interested in selling my journals on her site. I didn’t really know if I could do it because all the journals that I have made in the past have been one-of-a-kind. I use vintage papers and books, maps, recycled materials…stuff that I may only have one of. But I took on the challenge and designed 3 new journals that I believed I could replicate…and here we are!
I have made a limited number of 30 of each journal. I would be lying however if I said all 30 were all exactly the same. I still incorporated vintage papers and maps and recycled materials into the journals. They wouldn’t be AlyBird Art journals if I didn’t!!
For the Bird wrap-around journal I used recycled cardboard for the cover and lined the inside with ink-misted paper. There are 6 signatures (groups of papers) sewn into the binding using a long stitch. The pages are made from lots of different papers, vintage papers, maps, cardstock, tags, and pockets. This album stays closed with a nifty elastic to wrap around it.
The secound journal I made is a 2 ring journal. I used 2 pieces of bookboard and stamped kraft paper for the covers. There are lots of neat papers in this journal.
The 3rd journal I made was probably the most time consuming but I love the way it came out. This is a travel journal (or just about your journey through life!). The cover was created using bookboard and vintage maps from a world atlas. So each journal has a different piece of the world on it, which makes it really unique. The binding is sewn using a harlequin stitch.
I am so excited to be able to offer these journals at a discounted price. For today only they will be $26.50, after that I will be selling them (if I have any left) on my etsy site for $34.oo.
Thanks for looking and enjoy this beautiful day!
Robyn
